The opening speech was made by Fang Wenjian, Chairman, China Chamber of Commerce in the UK. The keynote address was delivered by HE Zheng Zeguang, the Ambassador of China. This was followed by a speech by Sherard Cowper-Coles, Chairman, China-Britain Business Council. The Chairman of The 48 Group Club – ‘The Icebreakers’, Stephen Perry, then delivered his remarks and observations.

More than 300 people from numerous business sectors and various parts of the country listened to the keynotes as well as panel sessions and enjoyed networking. There was a general view that it was great to be able to gather in person again after the last couple of years, meeting friends and colleagues, old and new. Despite headwinds, on the business front, relations between Britain and China are still doing well and there are many success stories out there, not least among SMEs.

The event was organised by the China Chamber of Commerce in the UK, with the support of the 48 Group Club.
